Celebrating 50 Years of Classic Star Trek Graphic Novels
With this collection you can revisit all the classic characters and incredible art from the STAR TREK comic archives. Every edition has a specially-commissioned introduction to provide context to the story. Every book contains a number of collected comics and a bonus reprint of one of the comic archive’s classic stories.
GOLD KEY 1967-1978
STAR TREK comics started in 1967 during the show’s second season. They were created before STAR TREK gained cult status and provide a fascinating insight into the show’s history as it established itself as a pop-culture phenomenon.
BRITISH STRIPS TV21 1969-1973
These are some of the rarest comics in STAR TREK history published in British titles such as Valiant and TV 21 in the early 70s. The first instalment went out before an episode had been broadcast in the UK.
Comics giant Marvel Comics took over the rights when STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE was released in 1979.
Following STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN, DC Comics took over the rights and started producing stories that followed Kirk and his crew after Spock’s death. The series revisited many of the characters from the original series.
In 1993 independent comic book company Malibu acquired the rights to produce DEEP SPACE NINE comics. The main series ran for 32 issues and produced two special issues written by STAR TREK actors.
PARAMOUNT COMICS (MARVEL) 1995-1998
All the different STAR TREK series were brought together under a single banner in 1995 which saw the creation of Paramount Comics. As well as adapting the movie FIRST CONTACT, they published series based on TNG, DS9 and VOYAGER.
In 1999, WildStorm took over the rights to STAR TREK and produced a series of one-shots and mini-series featuring the original series, TNG, VOYAGER and DS9.
To celebrate STAR TREK’s 40th anniversary, Tokyopop produced a series of Manga-style comics featuring stories by Trek novelists Dayton Ward, Kevin Dilmore and Diane Duane.
In 2007 IDW secured the rights to STAR TREK and have lavished care and attention on the franchise. They have worked with the writers of the new movies to fill in the gaps before and after them, explaining how Spock ended up in the past and more...

STORIES WRITTEN BY THE STARS

How does a premium subscription work?
